This comes up every once in a while. It's complicated by patents (some
of which expire this year?) and code bloat. The intermediate solution is
to ssh to a machine on the same subnet as the PM and telnet from that
machine, so the keystrokes aren't encrypted over the local wire, but are
encrypted across the WAN.
