Once upon a time Mickey Coggins shaped the electrons to say...
>I just opened the box for my new PM3, and I'm quite disappointed to
>not find any documentation for the PM3. I have a CD that does not

That shouldn't be...

Command Line Administrator's Guide - November 1996. Chapter 10 is
configuring a PM-3. You should have that.

PortMaster 3 Installation Guide - September 1996. You really should have
this.

The Configuration Guide for Portmaster Products was last revised before
the PM-3 came out. Most of the commands in there still apply, but it
currently lacks newer commands. It is in revision currently and a new
version should be out soon.

That's it really - things like RADIUS and ChoiceNet are universal.

And, of course, read the release notes for the PM-3 ComOS 3.5, and
actually the release notes for 3.5 on other units. Some new things
were added to them, and rolled into later builds on the PM-3 - like
3.5c6 and 3.5.1b8. They'll be officially covered in the 3.5.1 notes
when it releases.

>1) Where can I download the latest pubs that have the PM3 specific
> commands listed?

Our web site Customer Service then Documentation

>2) What is the code level I should be running?

I'd go with 3.5.1b8 at this time, at least until the next public beta is
out. If you don't need channelized-T1 then 3.5c6 will do for now.

>3) Will Channelized E1 be supported someday?

Channelized-E1 for WAN routing has been supported since FCS. PPP or
Frame Relay over channelized leased lines.

Channelized-E1 *dialin* - R2 signalling - is in early beta currently.

>4) When it is supported, will I be able to run frame relay on one of
> the channels?

If the channelized E1 is using dialin signalling, no, I don't believe you
will. If you have it set for leased line usage, then yes, you can do that
today.

I'm not sure if you can get it mixed, with some channels doing dialin and some
channels as leased lines.
