Dialing in from a USR 33.6k sportster at home, to our PM2E30 connected to
identical sportsters: Windows 95 reports "Connected at 28800".
Downloading a file from our ftp server, I can get 3.5-3.6 kBps. Just
wondering - I keep hearing that PM3 will retrain the connection speed.
Anyone know if our setup (PM2E30 w/ sportsters) will retrain similarly?

Not for me. My ol' trusty 2e/30 hooked up to a USR MP/16. Downloading an
Apache log file. Got over 10k cps consistantly. On the PM-3, only 7.5k
cps. Livingston says compression will improve with the newer modem code
coming out.

Now on gzipped files, yes, the fastest I've ever seen is on the PM-3. My
SupraFax showed a 31.2k connection on its read-out, but I got over 3.4
kBps on a downoad of a gzipped logfile (size of the file/time it took).
