MZ or someone else at Livingston said that the new license only continues
the old license, and that USR was not getting access to any newer code
then they already had. The ComOS licensed to USR is 3.1.4, and ComOS has
come a long way since then.

It'd be a real coup for USR if they licensed ComOS 3.5.1. My Netserver
would actually be able to do OSPF!

(Yes, I know the PM3 is better than the USR in many ways. My problems are
the horrible modems on the current PM3 modem cards, and the lack of X2 on
the PM3. USR's Courier series of modems used in the Total Control rack
will connect with pretty much anything. If the Lucent cards fix the modem
problems, I expect all future purchases to be PM3s)
