I am trying to configure MRTG for use with my system. I have an
IRX-114 (ComOS3.5.1R) and two PM-3s(ComOS3.5.1.b8). I wanted to start
easy, just configuring MRTG to watch the IRX-114. I am running this
on a Linux box. I have the SNMP values on the IRX set to 'public' and
SNMP host to any. When I try running 'cfgmaker public@myrouter.mydomain.net',
it waits a while, then responds 'no answer from public@myrouter.mydomain.net'.
I know the network connection is good, (same network segment, telnet/ping
works).
I am fairly new to SNMP. The Livingston documentation is a little thin.
Is there something obvious that I am missing? Thanks!
