We're familiar with the Merit RADIUS enhancements to do this but
comparatively that's a very complicated way to do it and of course they
have taken it to the extream. It would be very simple to write an
enhancement to ComOS that would let you override the global settings for
auth and acc servers for individual ports.
Soundly rejected by whom? If it's not hard to code, it doesn't affect
default configurations and it provides a usefull enhancement, who would
object?
This would be real helpfull in that we keep getting requests from
companies and institutions to provide them with access ports at our modem
pools that are authenticated on and accounted for on their servers. I
realize that these things move slowly, but it never hurts to ask.
