Good news - if you're coming to the RADIUS class on Saturday you might walk
off with some free software. I've had three RADIUS servers donated (sadly
not from Lucent) and I'll be giving them away to class attendees. I thought
it would be a cool thing to do, and these cool folks agreed to donate.

RADIUS: Protocol and Production

RADIUS is the Remote Access Dial-In User Service, an Authorization,
Authentication, and Accounting client-server protocol. RADIUS is the
de facto industry standard for remote access AAA, as well as an IETF
standard. We'll turn RADIUS inside out. Starting with an overview of
the evolution of RADIUS, where it is today, and how it is used we'll
work through all of the current RFCs and drafts pertaining to RADIUS.
We'll cover each of the Attribute-Value Pairs (AVPs), their use, and
implications. Walking through the installation of a server we'll
examine each of the steps. User profiles will be covered in depth,
highlighting the extreme flexibility offered by creative use of AVPs.
Moving on we'll cover some common RADIUS pitfalls and troubleshooting,
leading into a brief overview of the current NAS and RADIUS server
market. And finally there will be a Q&A session where you get to play
stump the instructor.

***SPECIAL BONUS!***

We're giving away free RADIUS Software in a raffle to seminar
attendees! Thanks to generous donations from industry leaders.

RadiusNT:

RadiusNT was the first RADIUS server for Windows NT as well as the
first RADIUS server to be fully connected to an RDBMS. It continues
to lead the industry in features and scalability and is recommended by
most NAS Vendors as the preferred RADIUS server for the Windows NT
platform. RadiusNT is also an integral part of the Emerald Management
suite, which allows ISPs and businesses around the world to
consolidate management of their multi-platform network, including
billing, E-Mail, and Web.

IEA Software is donating a free license for RadiusNT Standard Edition.
More information about IEA Software and RadiusNT may be obtained via
their website at <URL:http://www.iea-software.com/>

Radiator:

Radiator is probably the most portable and flexible RADIUS server on
the planet. Running on most UNIXes, NT, Win95, Win98 and Rhapsody, it
works with most free and commercial SQL servers and many other
authentication databases, as well as proxying, LDAP, username
rewriting and much, much more. <URL:http://www.open.com.au/radiator/>
to see how much more. Radiator also works with many third party ISP
billing packages, so you can use it to build a tightly integrated
authentication solution in a mixed OS environment. The lucky winner
will receive a free Radiator single CPU source code license, plus free
upgrades for one year.

Steel-Belted Radius:

Steel-Belted Radius is an award-winning RADIUS server that makes it
easy to manage and consolidate all the Internet, Extranet, and
Intranet access to your network. It works with the widest variety of
network access equipment and methods, including remote access servers,
firewalls, and VPN routers, for complete compatibility in a mixed
network environment. Plus, Steel-Belted Radius can authenticate remote
users against the widest variety of back-end authentication databases,
including NT Domains/Hosts, UNIX user tables, NetWare NDS/Bindery,
SQL, LDAP, and token authentication systems such as Security
Dynamics. Finally, its comprehensive RADIUS accounting support makes
it easy to track and document all the remote access activity on your
network, for accurate departmental charge-backs and billing. See
