Lucent acquired Port Authority and is merging it and RADIUS ABM into one product
right now and keeping the Port Authority name as the Port Authority name matches
PortMaster more then RADIUS ABM does. Both Products are available meeting a
different set of needs. RABM is a all-in-one solution (including billing) with
a lot more features the PA at this time. PA is a more modular product with
allows faster customization through the use of plug ins. RABM is oracle based
while PA uses the standard user and detail files by default and LDAP, NIS, and
others via plug ins. Within the next 9-12 months they will be one product.
