Slightly off topic, but sort of not. This is for those 'grass is greener'
folks.. now if only people would start complaning about the USR TC's on
the inet access list, i'd be set =)

Subject: Re: AS5200 Experiences please

Mike,

This is indeed our same experience. We switched to the pm3 and have still
had some minor problems here or there (Most of which was cured by a client
modem firmware upgrade). But overall My tech support staff was cheering
when we bought the 5200's offline. I took the modems out of one of them
and let them smash it up with a sledgehammer. This seemed to help. I
can't wait to see what the leasing company says ;) Would insurance cover
that?

We ran everything from 11.2.X to 12.0.X, and every single microcom modem
upgrade. The box stinks plain and simple. Its slow 25mhz processor can
barely handle a 1/2 load, the 30 minute reboots got very old. The IOS
Bug,s the Modem Bugs, the almost endless wait for modem updates after bugs
where found. Cisco rocks for routers, it's all we will ever use. Their
dialup access servers blow tiny particle laser-chunks out the back-end.
