Our CEO went and bought himself a new 56K modem. What can I say, all 56K
modems are the same right. So he buys a KTX 56K wizzbang from a local
supplier. Trouble is the damn thing says it's connected at 56000 even when
it connects to a 33.6K modem pool. Throughput is abysmal (lots of
renegotiations). The ati commands produce the following info

ati6
RCV56DPF-PLL L8571A Rev 19.00/19.00

ati3
V2.077-V90_2M_DLP

Now except for modems identifable as HCF modems, I have had good results
from Rockwell chipset modems, but this one is truely aweful. Does anyone
know if this chipset is the HCF type? Has anyone had any experience with
KTX-56KVI2-G modems (they are rebadged GVC modems)?

BTW anyone notice Rockwell's website no longer exists?
