I'm using an Adtran Atlas to bundle several BRIs into a PRI that I feed into a
PM3. (By the way, thanks to the list for the advice on this topic a couple
months ago!) I told the telco to set up hunting when I ordered the lines, and
they said "sure, no problem."
The problem I'm having is that the lines hunt for analog calls only, but not
for digital calls. A digital call can complete on the lead number, but if the
lead number is busy then a second digital call gets a busy signal. Analog
calls (either from a POTS line or using DOV on an ISDN line) hunt correctly.
The telco rep said: "on BRI we can only provide analog or digital
hunt. Other Internet providers are setting up 2 hunt groups to provide
service for their customers. It is a limitation of BRI."
This is in USWest territory, on a 5ESS switch. Is my rep smokin' crack, or am
I screwed?
Appreciate any advice. Thanks,
Mark
