:i've only recently noticed that the login prompt default ($hostname
:login:) doesn't actually seem to work. the box always just says login:

What do you have your sysname set to and your login prompt?
:when dialed in as !root, flow control doesn't seem to work. doing a show
:all or show session will regularly drop 15-20 chars at the end of each
:screenful. i've tested it with multiple different modems and made sure
:flow control was setup right at the calling end.
Hrm, I would think this is because your flow control on your dialing modem
is off, or set to something different than the receiving modem. Works fine
for me.
