I've got a customer that has a Presario 2286, modem properties say it's a
Rockwell HCF 56K modem... sometimes when he's trying to connect I can hear
the modem handshaking with our PM3, but then he'll immediately get dumped
and windows will pop up an error saying the modem on the other end isn't
answering. I'm guessing this is because there was a modem handshake problem
and windows never received the CONNECT or CARRIER response from the modem,
so it thinks one never answered.

Is there a update he can get for this modem? Compaq's website was no help.
I'm running ComOS 3.8, because I can't run 3.8.2, after a few days 3.8.2
stops giving people network connections and I have to reboot the PM3. I
wish I could find an answer on why that's happening to me, because I hear
the 3.8.2 modem code is superior to 3.8.
