ESF does have a small advantage. It allows you to measure error rates
on the line much better than AMI The PM3 doesn't allow readout of ESF
data but the phone company could possibly use it. If ESF is available,
ask to have it set up that way. I don't think I would spend money
modifying a line that is working fine.
B8ZS is only needed if your datastream can have eight zeros in a row.
This is supposedly impossible on a CT1 with all twenty four slots in
use. B8ZS does add some tiny latency (at least 8 bit times at each
CSU/DSU) and AMI doesn't. If you can get B8ZS, I would probably do it.
