Bingo. Same thing's happening to us. Same randomness in time and
circumstances.

Ditto. What ComOS are you running? We're mostly 3.8.2.

We're not running RIP at all -- OSPF not-even-vaguely-stubby areas, and
that's it (but that's another post ...) Do you happen to be running any
OSPF? We're doing it for the static-IP customers. It's been driving us
batty. I've had this whacky (according to my co-workers) theory that it's
OSPF running amok, but if you're not running any, that blows my intuitive
professional credibility right out the bit bucket.
