Hi all,

Thanks in advance.

I'm running Livingston RADIUS 2.0.1 on Solaris 2.5.1 on a SparcStation 20.
Also using PM3'S (COM OS 3.8.2) and a PM2 (Com OS 3.5)

Every month or so I get the following error in the Radius logfile:

Thu Apr 8 17:00:54 1999: [3032] could not read
/usr/local/radius/raddb//clcache to find clients
Thu Apr 8 17:01:24 1999: [3032] could not read
/usr/local/radius/raddb//clcache to find clients
Thu Apr 8 17:01:24 1999: [3032] could not read
/usr/local/radius/raddb//clcache to find clients

this of course stops all user logins as authentication breaks down due the
fact that Radius cannot read it's client database (I assume that's what the
entry is saying).........I don't understand why this happens and why in such
a regular/periodic fashion.........seems to happen every 5-6 weeks or
thereabouts.

These are the files (besides others) in my raddb dir:

0 -rw------- 1 root other 0 Apr 8 17:52 clcache.dir
1 -rw------- 1 root other 1024 Apr 8 17:52 clcache.pag
1 -rw------- 1 root other 678 Oct 2 1998 clients

The only way I can get authentication working again is to kill the radius
process then delete or rename the clcache.pag and clcache.dir files, and
finally restart radius......this is the shell script which runs radius:

#!/bin/sh
nohup /usr/local/radius/bin/radiusd -s -a /usr/local/radius/radacct/ -d
/usr/local/radius/raddb/
-l /usr/local/radius/log/logfile -x > /usr/local/radius/log/radius.out 2>&1&

Does ne1 have any idea as to what might be causing this problem...and if so
how to fix it....

Thanks once again..

Cheers,
