I've come to the conclusion that allowing servers to run for long periods of
time is generally a bad idea. We had a Banyan box that had been up for at
least two years and we finally had to move it. We powered it off, moved it,
plugged it back in and BLAMMO! The machine wouldn't boot due to a dead
controller.

The boss wondered why we never performed "routine maintenance."
