RE: (PM) Encryption over dialup lines

There isn't any method by which to encrypt the PPP/SLIP data between the
PortMaster and the remote client.

You can, however, encrypt the DATA which is sent within PPP. For
instance, if you're connecting machine A to machine B via the
PortMaster, simply have machine A encrypt the data and machine B decrypt
the data. This causes it to be encrypted in the intermediate hop of the
PortMaster.

You're not really being specific enough to
determine what you're
trying
to encrypt.

CHAP encrypts passwords (well, more accurately,
it doesn't send
the
password but challenges representative of it)
PPP/SLIP isn't encrypted and there isn't any
method within the
PortMaster to do so
Telnet is not encrypted and the PortMaster does
not support SSH
L2TP is not encrypted at this time

What is it you're looking to encrypt? Have I
nailed it with the
above
list already?

Hi

Is it possible to encrypt the
data over dialup
line
where Portmaster is
involved...
(Say one end is portmaster and
another end is
Unix
machine...)

If there is some information /
URL on this pls
provide ?

With Warm Regards
