I've had the same problem. The Acer Modems are generic Rockwell PCI modems.
One would think because they are PCI that they should work fast. Here are a
couple of ideas (assuming that your client is Windows 9X): 1) Have the client
turn the speed of the modem to 56K from the default of 115,200. 2) In the
Server Type settings of the Dial-up connection, have ONLY Enable Software
Compression and TCP/IP checked. This should help...next step, get them a USR or
Supra modem!
