I have never really paid too much attention to the Disconnect Causes
reported by the Show Modems command, and had really pretty much just dealt
with what a customer reports.
However a recent posting to this list "3.8.2c2 results after about 2000
calls" got me to look a little bit more closely at the Disconnect causes
reported by the Show Modems command.
I have found that the occurence of Circuit Disconnect appears on almost all
ports, and Normal appears only on a very few.
In the posting I saw this:
normal 85.87% 3124/3638
User Request - Call Circuit Closed 7.89% 287/3638
Lost Carrier 4.59% 167/3638
Service Unavailable - Auth Failed 0.49% 18/3638
I have a couple of questions, in regards to the DISCONNECT reasons shown by
the show modem command.
Where can I find a description of what the Disconnect reasons actually
mean? What does Normal mean exactly?
What does Circuit Disconnect mean exactly?
Is Circuit Disconnect a negative or postitive disconnect reason?
Thanks for any input.
