Since one of the purposes of the portmaster-modems mailing list is to
improve communications between Lucent Remote Access and our customers,
I'm going to tell you our plan. But please keep in mind that this is
just a plan, and may change based on what we learn in the next few weeks.
1) 3.8.2c2 has the same modem fixes as the 3.8.2pwm19 closed beta, and
was released last Wednesday (May 5th).
2) ComOS 4.0.3c2 for the PM-4, with the same modem fixes as 3.8.2c2 had
for the PM-3, was released Monday (May 10th).
3) We are continuing to work on the modem code to further improve it.
4) We are gathering traces every day and reviewing ways to improve the
modem code. You can help us on this by trying ComOS 3.8.2c2 or ComOS
4.0.3c2 and reporting any problems to our tech support following the
procedures outlined in the release notes.
5) When the code is worthy, we plan to release it as ComOS 3.8.4 and
4.0.4, and then as new beta releases of 3.9b8 and 4.1b15 (with updated
beta numbers, of course).
