Yeah, have him NOT use w2k. I haven't seen w2k drivers for any modems
(not saying there aren't any ;)

And since this is a HCF it is so dependent on the CPU and OS, that is
probably the big conflict not having proper drivers.

He does realize that beta OS stuff is 'use at your own risk' right?

Oh, if you can get the FCC id number that'll help... I remember seeing the
rss800x series last night but can't remember what manufacturer. In all,
you could look through all the manufacturer's sites that have HCF and look
for a w2k...
