(PMOD) disconnects

I have a user who complains about being disconnected. He says it comes in
cycles, some days he can connect and stay connected, some days he keeps getting
disconnected. He has been talking to another user who he claims has the same
problem so of course it has to be our end (yeh right and Bill Clinton doesn't
tell porkies). However I have to take him seriously because he's on our
board of control and this has only started sine I upgraded to 3.8.2c2. Does
anyone know of any reason why this might be happening our what I need to
do to find out why he's getting disconnected (He's using an LT WinModem v5.44
software and I've told him to go into Hyperterm and type ATI11).
