You are correct. Sorry for forgetting to mention that in my previous
message. For V.90/K56flex/V.34 data or fax operation, Lucent generic
drivers will work fine on the Compaq hardware.

1.6.15 (essentially the same as 1.6.15.1) was built on 6/18/98, and
corresponds roughly to LT 5.12. So although it took a while to get through
qualification at Lucent and Compaq, the code is fairly old.

The nice thing about these host-controller modems is that you can try a
variety of drivers until you find the one that works best on your line.
Although we try to make sure that any improvements for some lines don't
cause any new problems on others, there are some tricky tradeoffs.
