(PMOD) Ascend modem problems

Just thought I'd throw this out... I talked yesterday with another ISP
in a town about 150 miles away. They use Ascend MAX gear, so I asked if
they have any connection problems. He said that for the most part they
were okay, but USR modems don't connect to them at all. When I asked
him to be more specific, he said that it was mainly the USR modems that
are shipping in new machines from Dell, Gateway, etc. I'm guessing he
was talking about USR Winmodems. Anyway, I just thought I'd mention
this to underscore the fact that the grass isn't always greener on the
other side of the fence.
