Hmm, if it's a HCF modem I would try the zoltrix .156 driver and see if
that works, realizing it's a 'generic' fix and some features won't be
supported. Otherwise, if HP says it's a riptide, which is a variant of
Rockwell, then you should look for the riptide update that IIRC someone
posted about.
Hmm, a quick run through on the HP site gives:

which has a Mar 1999 update v1.0 Oh, very descriptive (sarcasm).
Have them try that and see what happens...
