(PMOD) Lucent WildWire modems

Has anyone had any problems with the LT WildWire modems? In POS Compaqs?

I've got 2 customers that had theirs working fine but then one day it just
quit. Both of them are in different cities, dialing different numbers into
PM3s running either 3.8 or 3.8.2c2. I gave them the AT+MS=V34 and although
the modem still dials the modem still won't connect. We also turned off
compression, error control and changed flow control to software.

I've never called Lucent and opened a ticket because the customer's are
never patient enough for that kind of thing. If it doesn't work the first,
second, third, fourth or fifth time they go somewhere else. And no excuse
for why it doesn't work satisfies them when there are a dozen ISPs in the
area. We're testing a US Robotics Total Control unit and are impressed with
it so far but neither of these customers are within local calling of it.
