I know that the init string I gave limits the modem to V.34 (33.6 max).
That's because this modem is a piece of crap and won't hold a V.90 connect
without mega-renegotiations. My experience with these is to lock them to
V.34 and leave them there. They work quite well at V.34 speeds.
If you want the modem to do V.90 (although I don't recommend it), here's
an init that will do that:
+MS=V90,1,0,<max V.90 speed>
Obviously, replace the <max V.90 speed> with the maximum V.90 speed you
want the modem to go.
Incidentally, I recently tried firmware version 6.06 on one of these,
hoping that it would fix the reneg problems that 6.04 had--no luck. It
did the same thing. Like I said, V.34 has been the answer for all the
Cirrus Logics that I've seen. YMMV.
