I have a customer with a USRobotics 56k VoiceWin that can't connect to our
server at any higher than 16.8 right now. We were initially running
3.8.2c2 but have since switched to 3.9b24 (I have had him try connecting
with both software revs). The weird thing is that he was able to connect
at 26400 solidly for a while then couldn't and this did not coincide with
the move from 3.8.2c2. The software rev from the diagnostics in the modem
control panel is below. I tried to connect directly to his modem with
Hyperterminal but for some reason was unable to. Modem is on Com 2
according to diagnostics, but when we got connected to Com 2 he couldn't
type anything. Had him try 'at' just to see if he would get an 'ok'
response. no dice. so this is all I have to go on:

I guess I'm hoping there is going to be an easier way than finding his
"product code" and trying to use the modem upgrade wizard..or maybe I
should just bite the proverbial bullet and give that a shot??
