Authentication problems

I currently have Shiva Access swithces authenticationg off of
Livingston Radius version 2.0. The problem that I am having is that
the Shivas will authenticate just fine when there is a user profile
for a user in the "users" file. When there is not a profile and they
must use the DEFAULT user profile thne they cannot authenticate using
the passwd/shadow files. Here is a copy of my DEFAULT user profile:


DEFAULT Password = "UNIX"
User-Service-Type = Framed-User,
Framed-Protocol = PPP,
Framed-MTU = 1500,
Idle-Timeout = 2700,
Session-Timeout = 64800,
Framed-Compression = Van-Jacobsen-TCP-IP,
Port-Limit = 1

Any help or comments would be appreciated.
