Most modern UNIX's will give you the login prompt again and again until
you actually type something in. This is a feature. (I don't recall POSIX
covering this, does anyone else know?) And for his application, what
difference would it make if it did break other scripts? If it were an
option everybody could break which set of scripts/behaviours they wish.
And honestly any script that doesn't cope with both behaviours seems
ill-conceived.
