sounds like you need &C1&D2, but you actually don't need any of that.
I configured all of that through the front panel on the 220, and don't
use any init string.
On a different note, is anyone else doing PC <-> Bitsurfr <-> UTA220
<-> Portmaster? I had done this with a UTA210 instead of a Bitsurfr
with no problem, but the Bitsurfr seems to be eating characters in
V.120 modem. Running Linux on the PC, I'm see about 5-10% packet errors
on the ppp interface running the Bitsurfr, compared to 0 errors over
several days with the same machine and portmaster on a 14.4k link.
I also see only about 1 error per day using the Bitsurfr's synch
ppp conversion to dial into a Pipeline400. The errors are most noticeable
when I try to telnet to port 23 of another unix box--the error count
jumps up and i never or rarely get a login prompt. I also get errors
under Trumpet Winsock. Tried two different machines, 3 different
Bitsurfrs (have latest ROM as of last Monday). One strange thing tho,
zmodem works fine (using sz on the the other end and NT's terminal
or minicom on the pc). It sounds like the Bitsurfr may be eating some
control character... didn't think till tonite to turn on the full asyncmap
though and haven't had a chance to test it that way. Does ancient
sz automatically escape some characters? Is anyone else doing V.120
with a Bitsurfr (successfully or unsuccessfully)? Motorola is supposed
to be calling me back early next week...
