Portmaster 2e dropping off the network

We have had exactly the same problem here. We have 20 modems plugged into a
PM2e/30 that has suddenly decided from time to time to refuse all connections,
requiring a cold-boot to fix. We have set security on the ports, set the modem
init strings to conform to the ISP doc at livingston, and installed and tested
the RADIUS software(Which is un-modified as of yet). The problem occurs with
out warning, and on an inconsistant basis. We have noticed one other side
effect is that the user logging in fails to get a "host.domain.blah login:"
prompt; rather, they get a " login:" prompt. Any help from those who might
have an inkeling on what might cause this would be appreciated.
