SLIP/PPP and security on

Hi, we have a PM2eR with 20 ports, ComOs 3.1.2 and 11 USR 28.8s and 8
USR 14.4 Sportsters, and when ever I try to make a user, say ppptest in
the local user table, and set it to networkdialin, and PPP/IP when I try
to login it gives me a bad password everytime, but when I just have it
set to a Login/Dialin user to Rlogin to another system it works fine.

In a related problem (I think) whenever i turn Security on, for radius to
work, the modem/port that I turned security on for starts giving out
gibberish when I try to connect..
are these problems related in anyway? I sure would appreciate some help,
because once we get our T1 in, we will want to provide SLIP/PPP accounts.
