ignorant questions...

i'm running solaris 2.4 with portmasters. never had to mess with radius
and in.pmd because things worked.

I'm trying to apply patches to radius to get the SCP or the crocker
msql changes installed. Or any other hack for that matter. For some
reason, It appears that radius is not used ! I can shutdown the
radiusd server, in.pmd (/usr/sbin/in.pmd) is still there, I can
login into the test host through the portmaster. in.pmd appears to
do all the work.

there are no entrys in the user table on the pm.

in.pmd radiusd
---------------------------
installed running can login into the pm
installed not running can login into the pm
not installed running does'nt work
not installed not running does'nt work

hence making changes to radius and trying to watch it with gdb
does no good...

what is the role of in.pmd in life ? how does it interact with radius
in solaris ?

All I want is the accouning data in a on demand useable format for all.
It would be nice to get it so that userid.ppp will auth with userid's
/etc/passwd entry and starts a 'default' ppp session.

where's the sources for in.pmd ? I know if I had them, I could answer
my own questions.

any ideas from people who have coded with radius ??

don't think I'm asking for too much.

Jeff
