Sorry, we don't support multi-homing. One address per interface.

You could use PPP-numbered until the switchover is done and then go back
to unnumbered.
I haven't tested this, but *maybe* you could number one end and leave the
other end unnumbered. So you would assign an IP to the WAN port, the old
ether0 IP. And hopefully the other end will work with that.
