You probably had the bad chipset or didn't have them configured
properly. We've had a number of Sportsters operating 24x7 for well
over a year now with NO problems (not a single one). Try the following
init string: ( at&f1&d2&b1&c1&n0&r2&h1m0s2=255s10=20s25=40&w0 )
>Also, your PM2/Sportster combo won't do ISDN at all. A PM3 will do both
>ISDN and analog for $355 a port.
Our PM2/Sportster has been doing ISDN since we ordered the 5bri, many
months ago.
>If the analog modems in the PM3 are good, and one of local LEC

Now you're talking. Livingston has a golden opportunity if it can get
the PM3 into production quickly. Cisco is still unable to ship their
5200 and besides the Microcom modems have to convert digital ISDN into
analog signals for analog calls (if my sources are correct). Ascend
isn't bad if you can put up with the awful menu interface, limited
filter capability, and historically unreliable POTS modems. USR's
Total Control is all digital, and sounds promising, but I've yet to see
one.
IMHO the proof will be in the pudding. This being new and thoroughly
_untested_ technology I wouldn't spend too much until it's known just
how fast and reliable those POTS calls connect over ISDN digital
channels.
