Hmm, maybe the problem dosn't appear in all models. We're using
GVC FM-288's (F-1128V/R6), BIOS 6.18.13. Tech support at GVC told me to
add &S1 and &D3 to the init string (as if &S1 or &D3 have anything
to do with anything). Well I added them and still the modems froze.
Here's our active profile (without the above 2 changes):
