Offhand, ... ?

I'm running HylaFAX on my Sun box, and it works just great, but you can only
fit one modem on the thing. We have a 2ER-30 on the ethernet there, and what
I would like to do is have HylaFAX use the fax-modems we have plugged into
the 2ER-30 transparently through the pseudo-terminals created by the
Portmaster login service.

The gist of my question is, do Unix pseudo-terminals offer the
required functionality, and if so, does the Portmaster login service use
them to their full capability to allow me to use a faxmodem across the
network as if it were directly connected to the local machine?
