The system WPI used to keep /usr/spool/mail/ clear.
Cron job would routinely move any email larger can 'x' size to the file
'mbox' in the users home directory.
They used the UNIX quota system to limit user home directory sizes.
End result - you either read your mail routinely or it goes into the bit
bucket when the quota is hit and the cron job can't save the mail.
