The PM cannot see more than one network PER INTERFACE. That is the key.
If ANOTHER PM has a different network, then PM A can use PM B as a gateway
to the different network on PM B's serial ports.

But if PM A's ether is on network 1 and PM B's ether is on network 2, they
will not see each other unless there isa gateway router that can see both
networks and each uses it to see the other.

Besides, static addressing really screws with routing, avoid it.
