Re: Radius 2.0 - Just wondering

Not trying to start a flame war myself. But, I really don't know
(been off this list for awhile) and the answers are not to be found
on Livingston's web page. I have a few questions on technologies
advertised but either not shipping, or if release not clear as to how
to obtain. Is the software development team far behind, or are the
following "vapor technologies"?

1. OSPF support for terminal servers and routers. This was originally
scheduled for release in July (?) Now I see it as a feature of the
announced but unreleased Portmaster 3 line but no mention of it
for existing terminal server upgrades.

2. RADIUS 2.0, this was scheduled for release with the July Total Access
CD(?) Free to existing customers.

3. ChoiceNet, according to Press Releases in May, was available without
charge to existing livingston customers and shipped with all new
terminal servers and routers. We have gotten terminal servers since
then from Solunet, no ChoiceNet, no sight of it on the web site either.

All three of these technologies are extremely important to our ISP
business and we have made a significant investment in several Livingston
products including PM 2es and IRX's. I would just like a status update,
if someone wants to reply email to me rather than the list, I would
appreciate it. Like I said, if this is a sore subject, I don't want to
open old wounds. It was a major letdown when the revised COMOS was
announced. Too few changes to be a major revision (although the bug
fixes were necessary) All in all, we are happy with the Livingston
product, but this field moves very fast and the 3 months or so delay
is an eternity in internet years.
