I don't get it.

If you had the ability to copy the tar file from a CDROM you have the
ability to copy everything else. Just 'cp -r' the directory and you have
everything you would get with copying the tarfile and untaring it.

I think the directions for a manual installation from the CD are in the
booklet.

BTW, FYI the August CD doesn't seem to like PCs. The pressing house
screwed up and didn't make them ISO (some number I've forgotten) compliant
so they seem to only work on UNIX. We've pulled them and expedited the
October CD pressing.

They claim they didn't do it because we didn't ask for it. Of course, all
the prior pressing were ok, which is why we didn't specify it. It was
just another run like the rest. They are at a loss to explain that one...

Just want you all you know that so you don't think we screwed up the CD
or something.
