While the use of stranded cable will generally result in more durable
patch cables, solid core cable may be used. There are a couple of
thinge to watch out for:

- use the correct RJ-45 plug body. There are variants for solid and
stranded wire as well as variants for round vs. flat cable.

- Solid wire patch cables won't take a lot of flexing. Take care to use
a large radius when bending (10" or so) and be aware that the cable end
near the RJ-45 usually is where flexture induced failures occur.

If you're at the point where you want to use solid patch cables, you probably
should consider permanent punchdowns using Krone or 110 wiring systems.
