Mine is only hacked for reading an alternate shadow file. I think the way
I did it could also be extended to do the same thing for the pwd functions
in libc...but I've not tried it. Linux libc releases have the nasty habit
of not liking to compile for me. I don't think I've successfully compiled
libc since 4.6.x.

I'll try cleaning up the patches a bit and will make the diffs available
when I get a chance. It's really not a big deal to do. I just added a
function and a bit of code to libshadow...
