We have about 225 of them connected to 8 2e-30's. Work great. We don't
do anything fancy with the init strings. We set them for auto answer
and issue AT&F1 and then AT&W before we put them on the rack. Set your
ports for 115,200 and modem control on, rts/cts on, xon/xoff off and
away you go. They work great, are EXTREMELY reliable, and for now
we wouldn't consider anything else. Failure rate so far is about 1 out
of 225 per 3 months. (The modem doesn't really fail, it gets confused,
usually fails off-hook - good, and a power cycle fixes the problem) As
far as irretrievable failures requiring sending to USR, non-existent as
long as they powered up fine out of the box. (Delivery problems have been
rare, usually LED's not functioning or power switch not functional when
placed on its side)
