Just a heads up/FYI
If anyone has recieved the new version of USRSportsters that have the shaft
stand-offs rather than the Hex stand-offs read on. (This is where your modem
cable screws into the modem)
In a typical Rack Mount environment (ie. PM to USRSports) most of us remove
the hex nuts and use them to mount the modem to the rack fixture. Well with
these new stand-offs that becomes more difficult. There is at least one
solution however. The shaft stand-offs can be removed and replaced with a
smaller press in shaft and then a standard hex stand-off can be screwed in.
I have the part numbers for the hardware that is required to make this
modification if anyone is interested. (I dont sell them, but I can tell you
where to get them for about .90 - $1.25 per modem)
If anyone has a better way to mount the USR's I'd be interested in hearing
from you.
Thanks,
Scott
