Bwahahahahaaaa! NYNEX has a hard time with 28.8! (Actually, if you
call them with a modem problem, they'll tell you that they'll only
guarantee 2400 on the lines. You get better response complaining about
line noise if you tell them it's a voice line.)

9X's infrastructure, at least here in RI, is atrocious. If they
can't do ISDN, and even inter-office calls can't always get 28.8
(never mind 33.6), what chance is there of this 56K technology working?
Slim to none, I'd say.
