We had similar 9600 connection problems and the 33.6 flash rom seems to
have stopped that... of course, we went through 4 versions of flash roms.
The "freezing" problem has been happening for quite some time. Every
morning, our tech support staff comes in and checks for stuck modems. Found
12 of them this morning...
We've been having horrible problems with BellSouth lately (surprise!), and
in the process of debugging THEIR problems, this morning also discovered
that I had about 10 modems that looked fine, displays cycling, offhook
light on, dtr light on, but nobody connected, and strange noises on the
phone line once we traced it back to the wall. BellSouth's switch finds the
line "high and wet". Of course, the PortMasters are fine and dandy :)
Anybody else run into that one? I'm on the verge of calling and chewing
out the first person who answers at Diamond. If anybody'd like to help
chew, please lemme know :)
>Supra's response to it was to flash all the modems with a beta flash
>upgrade. Ummm, I don't really like anything with the word "beta" in it :)
>I haven't done it yet. I think I'll try it on one or two Thurs or Fri and
>see what happens though.
Lemme know if it helps. I may do the same thing tomorrow morning.
