BellSouth does it again...

Hello again everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that BellSouth has recently released the
'Screw-everyone-I-can' tarriff. You see, in many regions of BellSouth
land, business lines with hunting cost about $55 / month. So, in order
to get around the extraordinary sum of a business hunt group for dialin
lines, many ISP's offer services from a residence and get residential
lines for a much more affordable cost (roughly $20 / month). Well, this
is how it happened until yesterday...

It seems that BS has passed a new tarriff which says that any residence
with more than 10 lines (and only 3 of those can have hunting) must
begin using business lines. All right in time for BellSouth's new
Internet services...how quaint. The reason, they state, is becase there
are facilities being put into residential areas that will not be used after
the current resident (me and you) either leave or go out of business.
When I explained to them that that's why I *PAY* for the damned service
to be installed, they basically shrugged it off with a "What are you
gonna do about it?" attitude. Well, here's what I'm going to do about
it:

I am going to compose a letter stating that I am 100% dissatisfied with
BellSouth's service, and that I am currently courting other companies who
will shortly be offering local service in my area (which is true). If
BellSouth does not reform its policies, I will cancel all services with
them the very day that competition is in the area. Then, I will list my
approximate yearly phone bill and let them know just how much it cost
them.

Here's what I'd like from any of you. Anybody in BellSouth land that is
as unhappy with them as I am, please send me your fax number and I will
fax you a copy of the letter for you to put your John Hancock on. Then,
when I have received all the faxes back from you, I will deliver them to
BellSouth. Please note that your dissatisfaction need not be over the
new tarriff exclusively...if BellSouth has pissed you off for *any*
reason so much that you firmly believe you would switch to their
competition as soon as possible, you should be included in this.

Anybody critical of this idea can save their breath, fingers, and my
reading time. I'm tired of everyone whining on this list about phone
companies and nobody doing anything about it; so without involving
lawyers, this is the best plan of action I see.

Please cc all responses to jeff@apex.net as I only get the digest version
of this list.
